BENGKULU - Just because he was offended by his words, DS (19) had the heart to kill MR (23) who works as a marbot of a mosque in Sumberjaya Village, Kampung Melayu District, Bengkulu City.

Bengkulu Bengkulu Police Chief Kombes Aris Sulistyono said that the perpetrator DS had the heart to kill the victim because he was offended by the victim's words. "After receiving information about a case of severe abuse that caused the victim to lose his life, the team immediately conducted an examination and arrested the perpetrator in less than a day," said Aris, quoted on Sunday, January 29. He said that the perpetrator and the victim did not have emotional relationships such as friends and so on, besides that the victim and the perpetrator had only met at the scene of the incident. The perpetrator is a resident of Padang Capo Village, Seluma Regency in his escape in Karang Nanding Village, Selagan Bungin District, Central Bengkulu Regency.

The police were able to arrest DS because at the location of the incident the perpetrator's cell phone was left behind. For his actions, the perpetrator was threatened with Article 338 subsidiary 351 paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code with a maximum threat of 15 years in prison. Aris continued, his party also confiscated evidence in the form of a sarong, a shirt, one trousers, a cellphone and a unit of SPM grandong. "Currently, the team is searching for evidence in the form of a knife thrown by the perpetrator in the Betungan area," he said.

The perpetrator DS admitted that he had committed murder and regretted and wanted to be responsible for his actions against the victim. "It is true that I committed the murder because I was offended by the victim's words," he said.
