Crazy! Approaching The New Year 2021, Some Sell 500 Coins At A Price Of IDR 1 Billion

JAKARTA - Do you still remember the Rp500 coin with a jasmine flower that went viral a few months ago? It turns out that, before the new year 2021, there are still some who sell these coins at exorbitant prices on the marketplace.

A few months ago this money took the social media scene by storm. Last July, the 500 coins released in 1991 were sold at an unreasonable price of Rp. 100 billion.

VOI tried to trace back several marketplace pages to find the current price of this 500 coin. On Bukalapak's page, there are still people who sell these coins at insane prices.

We filter search results from the highest prices. As a result, it was found that a seller was offering these 500 coins at a price of IDR 1 billion.

Seeing the seller's statement, he came from Karawang, West Java. The seller also posted a caption to attract the buyer's attention.

"Limited stock! Only 1 left!" wrote the seller, quoted Thursday 31 December.

As for the other marketplace pages, namely OLX, equal money with the seller at Bukalapak. This 500 coin is sold at a fantastic price, which is IDR 500 million.

"The 500 coins in 1992 were used," explained the description of the seller, located in Pekalongan, Central Java.

Quoted from the official website of Bank Indonesia (BI), these coins came out in 1991. The material used is aluminum bronze with a flat moon with the issue date of August 16, 1991.

The dominant color on the front and back is golden yellow. Then the weight of the money is 5.29 grams, 1.8 mm thick and 24 mm in diameter.

The front image features the national emblem of Garuda Pancasila and the text BANK INDONESIA. On the back of the coin there is an image of a jasmine flower, the text of a Jasmine Flower and Rp500 (small) then on the jagged side.
