BNPT Assessments 6 Stadiums That Will Be USED For The U-20 World Cup

JAKARTA - The National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) of the Republic of Indonesia will conduct an assessment of the six stadiums used at the U-20 World Cup to ensure safety aspects of the implementation.

"BNPT is ready to support, ready to succeed because this grand event is the pride of Indonesia," said BNPT RI Main Secretary Bang Bang Bang Surono in a written statement, quoted from Antara, Saturday, January 28.

To note, the U20 World Cup in 2023 is scheduled to take place from May 20 to June 11, 2023. A total of six stadiums are the venues for matches in Jakarta, Bandung, Solo, Surabaya, Bali and Palembang.

Bangbang Surono said to ensure security in every stadium, BNPT RI held a meeting with INAFOC, the All-Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) to the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).

"Assessments in terms of stadium security will be carried out to ensure the safety of every venue," he said.

In line with that, the Director of Protection for BNPT RI Brigadier General (Brigjen) of Police Imam Margono said to carry out security duties, the institution was based on BNPT Regulation Number 3 of 2020.

He explained that the regulation contained guidelines for protecting strategic vital object infrastructure and public facilities from acts of terrorism to related parties.

"BNPT will socialize and conduct an assessment at least one month before the implementation," said Police Brigadier General Imam Margono.
