JATENG - Semarang Police Chief Kombes Polisi Irwan Anwar hopes that social media managers, which are within the scope of the capital city of Central Java (Central Java), will contribute to the maintenance of security and public order.

Irwan said that the Semarang City area is currently in an emergency for gangster acts. Therefore, he continued, media participation is needed so that cases of violence that occur in the Semarang area can be quickly revealed.

"How are we trying to prevent similar crimes from happening again and efforts to foster the younger generation, because the average perpetrator of street crime is teenagers," he said.

He ensured that the police were serious in handling various crimes that were troubling the community.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Central Java Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI), Muhammad Aulia, added that social media managers are expected to be able to filter content creation and uploads on social media.

According to him, the dissemination of information to the public must be healthy and not make noise.

In addition, he continued, ethics in disseminating information must be maintained, especially those related to cases of sexual violence.

"Social media can't erase the digital footprint, so victims of this sexual crime must also be protected," he said.
