JAKARTA - The Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) opened the door wide for Kaesang Pangarep to join as a party cadre led by Giring Ganesha. This invitation was made by PSI DPP spokesman Cheryl Tanzil after a number of parties invited President Joko Widodo's youngest son to join his party. “Politics requires fresh blood, young people with creativity and broad imagination. Monggo, Mas Kaesang, joins PSI. We can fight together, maintain and improve all the good policies that have begun,” Cheryl said in his statement, Thursday, January 26. Cheryl claims that Kaesang can quickly adapt and exchange ideas when entering PSI. This is because PSI is filled by many young politicians. In fact, Cheryl said that Kaesang's position as the company boss that he was currently able to become his political provision. "He led Persis Solo. Mas Kaesang also raised a number of companies. This is an adequate initial provision for politics," he said. Previously, the Mayor of Surakarta and Jokowi's first son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, expressed his younger brother, Kaesang Pangarep,'s desire to enter politics. Gibran said that Kaesang himself conveyed this wish in front of himself and his father, Jokowi, when he returned to Surakarta. "What we talked about at the dining table was Kaesang. I was also shocked, he openly told us there was an interest in politics," said Gibran. However, he doesn't know whether Kaesang will start taking part in the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections (Pilkada). "I don't know, I just heard yesterday. Mr. [Jokowi] was also shocked.
