The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Aceh Tamiang Regency, Aceh Province distributed as much as 12 tons of clean water to flood-affected areas in Aceh Tamiang Regency, Aceh Province. "This is the third day that we supply 12 tons of clean water to the community in Pekan Sungai Iyu and its surroundings," said Head of BPBD Aceh Tamiang Iman Suhery as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, January 25. Clean water distribution was carried out on Tuesday night, January 24. Clean water assistance was distributed to the Iyu River, which is the center of Bendahara District, due to technical disturbances in the Tirta Tamiang PDAM service unit in the area due to the impact of flooding. Clean water is distributed gradually using a fleet of tank cars and fire engines belonging to BPBD in collaboration with PDAM Tirta Tamiang in Karang Baru.

"PAM water in Sungai Iyu died since the second day of the flood, namely, Sunday, January 22 morning. Residents lack clean water for the needs of MCK (bathing, washing and toilet)," he said. He said. He said that the clean water was not only distributed to residents, but also to houses of worship or mosques and other public facilities such as the sub-district office. So far, BPBD has overcome the need for clean water by door to door. His party from sub-district to night is still guarding the distribution of clean water to the community. In Bendahara sub-district, he said, at least 15 villages were affected by flooding triggered by heavy rains and shipments from upstream. On Monday, January 23 night, the water discharge had risen and submerged the Pekan Sungai Iyu area. "This time the PLN electricity was not extinguished, but instead the water PDAM died. We at the sub-district office also lacked clean water directly sent by BPBD," he said.

Separately, the Head of Emergency and Logistics (Darlog) of the Aceh BPBD, Tamiang Bambang Supriyanto, said that the distribution of clean water to flood-affected villages was a priority for the Darlog Sector. "Today maybe we are still distributing clean water. This means that as far as there is a request from the community, we will immediately send it," said Bambang.
