Wahabi Menjamur In Europe, Cak Imin Proposal For Import Of Takmir Indonesia Against Radicalism

JAKARTA - PKB General Chair Muhaimin Iskandar alias Cak Imin considers Europe to be confused about the mushrooming Wahhabi radicalism.

He suggested that Indonesian takmir be sent to Europe to become a takmir of mosques and counter Wahabi's understanding in Europe. "Some Islamic boarding schools may be imported to Europe and Russia, they will definitely be useful," said the Deputy Speaker of the DPR in his statement, Tuesday, January 24, as reported by Antara.

On the one hand, Cak Imin conveyed that the Muslim community in Europe, especially Russia, also needs to learn from Indonesia. They can find out how to live in peace and side by side with people like in the country. "I believe that Indonesia's Islam 'Ahlul Sunnah wal Jamaah' can help pioneer peace between Russia and Ukraine because fellow Muslims can reconcile war there," he said. According to him, Indonesia as a multiethnic and religious country has been proven and even recognized by many countries because it remains harmonious. Russia, which is fighting against Ukraine, can learn a lot from the Indonesian people. He also asked Russia to immediately end the war against Ukraine so that humanity, especially in the two warring countries, can again live peacefully. Cak Imin explained that the conflict between Russia and Ukraine is detrimental to countries in the world, including Indonesians. The Indonesian state, which is predominantly Muslim, is believed to be ready to start peace in both countries.

Meanwhile, the Russian Ambassador to Indonesia Lyudmila Vorobieva admitted that Russia is an Islamic state, even the same as in Indonesia which protects all religions, tribes and nations. According to Lyudmila, Islam actually came earlier to Russia before going to Southeast Asia. In fact, there is currently an Islamic revival in Russia because the existence of mosques has increased by 70 times so that a total of 7,000 mosques. In 2022, just as Russia fought against Ukraine, Russian Muslims celebrated 1,100 Years of Islam in Russia. "Currently, there are 150 million people in Russia, 30 million of whom are Muslims. The tradition of Russia and Indonesia is the same, namely all religions and nations can live together. But we are closer to Islam," said Lyudmila.
