Do Not Accept FPI's Activities And Attributes Are Prohibited, Rizieq Shihab Will Sue To PTUN

JAKARTA - The attorney for the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), Sugito Atmo Prawiro, confirmed that he would challenge the government's decision through a joint decree (SKB) which prohibited FPI's activities, activities and attributes from the State Administrative Court (PTUN).

"Later, we will sue them legally because this is a legal process. We will file a PTUN against the decision," said Sugito when met in the Petamburan area, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, December 30.

Sugito said that the resistance through legal channels was carried out on the orders of the FPI leader, Muhammad Rizieq Shihab, who is currently detained at Polda Metro Jaya.

"Habib Rizieq said, please prepare legal steps, sue the PTUN. If, for example, there is an official format from the government regarding the dissolution, we will file a lawsuit against the PTUN," he said.

Sugirto said the FPI legal aid team was preparing to process a lawsuit for the revocation of their organization's license to the PTUN. "As soon as possible we will fly it," he said.

The government prohibits all activities or activities of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI). This prohibition is contained in a joint decree signed by 6 officials.

"So with this prohibition (FPI) does not have a legal standing, to the central government and local government officials if there is an organization acting on behalf of FPI it is deemed to not exist and must be rejected because there is no legal standing as of today," said the Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law and Security, Mahfud MD.

This joint decree was signed by Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian, Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna Laoly, Minister of Communication and Information Johnny G Plate, Attorney General ST Burhanuddin, National Police Chief General Idham Azis, Head of the Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT) Boy Rafli Amar .
