MAKASSAR - An Ik thief was beaten by a mob because he grabbed a motorbike rider's cellphone passing through Tamalanrea, Makassar.

The Head of Public Relations of the Makassar Police, Kompol Supriady Idrus, said the mugging took place, Tuesday, December 29 afternoon.

The victim, named Nisa, admitted that her cellphone was confiscated on the dashboard of the motorbike.

"The female victim, Nisa and her colleague, crossed the Tamalanrea Raya BTP road by storing 1 unit of a blue Samsung Galaxy J1 cellphone on the front dashboard of a motorbike," said Head of Public Relations of Makassar Police, Kompol Supriady Idrus, contacted by VOI, Wednesday, December 30.

There are two people who snatched this cellphone. At that time, Ik was driving a motorcycle while Rd took the victim's cellphone.

However, the victim was immediately alert and detained the perpetrator. The victim tries to grab his cellphone so that it attracts each other with the two perpetrators. The culprit (Ik) falls, and the culprit Rd runs away.

Residents who saw the incident helped the victim and arrested the perpetrator. The perpetrator Ik who fell was beaten by the mob.

"The two perpetrators, the perpetrator Ik, together with the perpetrator Lk. Rd, immediately took the cellphone belonging to the victim who is currently a fugitive," said Supriady.

Ik, who fell, was immediately arrested and became the target of the residents' tantrums, causing bruises in his eye area. He was named a suspect by being charged under Article 365 of the Criminal Code.

Currently, the police are hunting Rd, who carries the victim's cellphone. Meanwhile, the motorbike used by the perpetrator was secured at the police station.
