2,500 Ambruk Houses Due To The Cleaned Earthquake, BNPB: Currently, The Government Is Focusing On Restructuring

JABAR - BNPB recorded that more than 2,500 rubble houses collapsed due to the 5.6 magnitude earthquake (M) in Cianjur had been cleared. This effort is from the follow-up of the central government, which is now focusing on rebuilding heavily damaged houses.

"Currently, the government is focusing on rebuilding and cannot be carried out directly because the damaged building structure in Cianjur is a permanent building. So what must be done is cleaning up debris that has been completed to this day around 2,500 houses," said Head of BNPB Lt. Gen. He explained, during the last two months of handling the Cianjur earthquake, the central government entered the reconstruction stage.

To the house that has been cleaned up by the rubble, Suharyanto said it can be rebuilt, either independently or through a party that has been appointed and recommended by the government.

For damaged houses according to the central government's instructions, there are three schemes implemented according to the budget provided for houses with a heavy damage of Rp. 60 million, moderate damage of Rp. 30 million and minor damage of Rp. 15 million.

"Untuk rumah rusak berat dapat dikerjakan pihak ketiga atau perusahaan yang ditunjuk pemerintah, sedangkan untuk rusak sedang dan ringan dikerjakan pemilik rumah," katanya.

He added, for residents who are able but wish to build a house that collapsed the same as before the earthquake was still allowed, but must be accompanied by a technical team from the Ministry of PUPR so that the house built according to the earthquake-resistant construction.

"For residents who have registered with third parties, they just need to receive the key and the payment will be made directly to the company that is working on it. Meanwhile, residents who can afford to rebuild their homes as desired will receive assistance," he said.
