The Treva Menteng Hotel Is Reopened After 5 Months Closed Due To Unfulfilling Fire Safety Standards

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Disgulkarmat) has again opened the seal of the Treva Hotel, Menteng, Central Jakarta after being closed for 5 months. The closure of the Treva Hotel was previously carried out because it did not meet the standards of buildings that have fire safety.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Gulkarmat Service, Satriadi Gunawan, revealed that now the Treva Hotel has corrected the fire protection requirements contained in DKI Jakarta Regional Regulation (Perda) Number 8 of 2008 concerning Fire Hazard Prevention and Management.

"The fire protection system that has been repaired by the Treva International Hotel, namely an upright pipe system and fire hoses as well as page hydrants, fire stations, water flow switches, fire detection and alarm systems, emergency communication systems, fire elevators, smoke control systems or smoke suppression fans, emergency directions, and emergency lighting," Satriadi said in his statement, Wednesday, January 18.

For information, on September 12, 2022, the DKI Provincial Government sealed the Treva Hotel building. Based on field inspections, the building does not meet fire safety standards which refer to article 50 paragraph 3 and article 59 of the DKI Regional Regulation Number 8 of 2008.

This sealing is accompanied by the IIth Warning Letter (SP) by giving administrative sanctions in the form of putting a sticker that reads "This Building DOES Not meet Fire Safety".

Five months closed, the revocation of the Treva Hotel seal was carried out on Tuesday, January 17. Satriadi hopes that this condition can make other owners of the buildings pay more attention to fire protection standards.

"We hope that in the future, after this activity, high buildings in Jakarta will be more concerned about the fire process," said Satriadi.

Furthermore, Satriadi also appealed to all building managers in Jakarta to be committed to maintaining and managing the fire safety system.

In accordance with Regional Regulation Number 8 of 2008 concerning Fire Hazard Prevention and Management related to building buildings, owners are required to provide fire protection including:1. light fire extinguishers2. fire detection and alarm system3.
