PDIP Gives Personal Advice To Surya Paloh, Who Has Already Chosen Anies: NasDem, It's Better To Take It From The Cabinet, Don't Want To Be Best Alone

Chairman of the PDIP DPP Said Abdullah, responded to the issue of the rift between President Joko Widodo and NasDem General Chair Surya Paloh who chose Anies Baswedan to become a presidential candidate (readpres). Said advised NasDem to immediately say goodbye to the Jokowi government coalition as a form of political ethics.

"We respect NasDem's autonomous right to make political choices. If you choose people who are against President Jokowi, then the political ethics should immediately say goodbye to the cabinet," Said told reporters, Wednesday, January 18. According to him, NasDem should not be allowed to remain in the cabinet while collaborating with the opposition. "Don't want to be comfortable alone, want a power cake but at the same time join forces with parties who are opposition and are at odds with President Jokowi. Political behavior like this is not an example of good political solidity," he continued. The chairman of the DPR's Budget Agency (Banggar) also emphasized that his party would ensure the safety of Jokowi's government as a political responsibility. PDIP, he said, would work to make Jokowi's second period a success to completion.

"We will ensure the safety of President Jokowi's government from any disturbance. We will guard him until 2024 and work hard as the successor to his government is in line with Jokowi's government. Not the party that is against Jokowi is currently supported but argues that he will continue President Jokowi's agenda after 2024," said Said. "We are nothing but in another mouth in the heart. Mrs. Megawati educates us, one mind and action," he added.

Previously, the Deputy Secretary General of the NasDem Party, Hermawi Taslim, denied the news that the chairman of Surya Paloh and President Jokowi had broken up. He said that the communication between the two is still good.
