IDR 6.38 Trillion Donated by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry to the State Treasury

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) donated IDR 6.38 trillion to the state general treasury in 2022.

"We were able to contribute Non-tax Revenue (PNPB) to the state general treasury account of 119.37 percent of the Non-tax Revenue target of IDR 5.54 trillion", said Minister of Environment and Forestry, Siti Nurbaya, in a joint working meeting with Indonesia House of Representatives Commission IV in Jakarta, Wednesday, January 18, quoted by Antara.

The description of the Non-tax Revenue includes payments from natural resources in the forestry sector in the form of forest resource fees, reforestation funds, and fees for business permits for forest utilization for IDR 2.93 trillion.

Then, Non-tax Revenue originating from the use of forest areas is IDR 2.93 trillion, another Non-tax Revenue is IDR 519.27 billion, and general Non-tax Revenue is IDR 202.12 billion.

In 2023, the Ministry of Environment and Forestry has set a plan for revenue from Non-tax Revenue of IDR 5.2 trillion, with the largest proportion being reforestation funds of 35.08 percent, use of forest areas of 30.54 percent, and provision of forest resources reaching 29.95 percent.

The increased revenue compared to the previous year illustrates the increased production of goods and services in the environment and forestry sub-sector.

All revenue comes from Non-tax Revenue taking into account log production to meet processed wood exports and natural tourism visits. The 2023 figure is an increase of 1.9 percent from last year's figure.

In addition to depositing revenues into the state treasury and submitting revenue plans for this year, the Minister of Environment and Forestry also revealed positive budget realization performance achievements over the past year.

From a budget of IDR 6.5 trillion, IDR 97.58 percent, or the equivalent of IDR 6.3 trillion was realized. This figure is higher than the national average of only 94.95 percent.

"We also report on BPK RI's assessment with the same unqualified opinion for six consecutive years from 2017 to 2022", he said.

He further said that the environmental and forestry sector has also continued its positive performance by consistently contributing to Indonesia's economic growth to continue to grow and become more resilient.

Until the third quarter of 2022, the contribution of the environment and forestry sector to national gross domestic growth was IDR 87.56 trillion. This amount increased by 4.8 percent compared to donations in the same period in 2021, which was only IDR 83.33 trillion, said Siti Nurbaya.
