The victim, who is a resident of Toreo Village, Wawolesea District, North Konawe Regency, was reported to have entered the forest of Tapunggaeya Village along with two of his co-workers on January 15, 2023, at around 20.00 WITA.

However, at 23.50 WITA, the two fellow victims returned to the basecamp to collect food.

After taking food, then at 02.30 WITA the two fellow victims returned to the forest and did not find the victim. At that time only the victim's cell phones, cigarettes, and shoes were found.
