DKI Deputy Governor Understands That There Are Still Delays In Reporting COVID-19 Cases

JAKARTA - COVID-19 cases in DKI continue to increase, even increasing by more than 2,000 in one day. The high number of new cases in the last few days was due to hundreds of late case data reported from various TCR laboratories such as private hospitals or BUMN.

Although the delay in data reporting has resulted in inaccurate daily new case figures, DKI Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria understands this.

"Indeed, there are some from other places whose data is late, so that is what we call rapelan. What should have been the data deposited today, it turns out that the one that was deposited today was already a few days before, so it piles up. But, we don't want to blame it either," said Riza. In addition, the high number of corona virus cases in Jakarta is also due to the high number of daily specimen examinations. Now, DKI is able to inspect up to 12 thousand specimens in one day.

Riza claims that the number of specimen examinations in one week in the capital city is nine times the standard of the World Health Organization (WHO).

However, Riza hopes that in the future the delay in reporting data on COVID-19 cases, both in hospital laboratories or health facilities, BUMN, BUMN, and the private sector, will no longer be repeated. "Hopefully this doesn't happen again," said Riza.

For information, the year-end holiday period is not over, but the number of COVID-19 cases in DKI Jakarta has shown an increase. In the last five days, new cases in the capital have almost touched 2,000 per day.

The DKI Provincial Government has certain reasons that caused daily cases to increase, namely delays in reporting data. On Monday, December 28, there were 1,678 new cases in DKI. In fact, there were only 1,272 new cases. However, 406 cases were reported late.

On Sunday, December 27, there were 1,997 new cases in DKI. In fact, on that day there were only 1,509 new cases. However, there was an accumulation of data on 488 cases that were reported late.

The new case in DKI on Saturday, December 26, too. There are 2,058 new positive confirmed cases recorded in the Capital City. However, the new case data was not purely on Saturday. There is an accumulation of data as many as 199 cases from 1 BUMN Hospital laboratory, on December 24, 2020 which have just been reported.
