Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday Western armored vehicle supplies to Ukraine would not change the situation on the battlefield, saying special military operations would continue and goals would be achieved.

"It can't change anything," Peskov said, when asked to comment on the European countries' intention to supply armored vehicles to Ukraine.

"Special military operations will continue. These tanks are burned well and will burn like the others. The purpose of the special military operation will be achieved," he stressed.

Asked about Britain's decision to send the Main Combat Tank (MBT) Challenger 2 to Ukraine, Peskov stressed, the measure could prolong the crisis and "corresponding to more problems for the Ukrainian state."

"We evaluated and viewed [ Such a decision] very negatively. We do not keep our stance secret. Britain, other European countries, Poland and beyond, are now speculating about their intention to start a new chapter of new supplies, more advanced military equipment to Ukraine, unable to change the situation on the ground. Further said, Moscow doubts that Western countries "care about the fate of people living in Ukraine or their future".

"They only use the country as a tool to achieve their anti-Russian goals," Peskov said.

As previously reported, Britain announced its decision to send 14 Challenger 2 tanks and a number of AS90 self-propelled gun artillery to Ukraine in the coming weeks.

On January 6, the United States announced an additional US$3 billion allocation for military support to Kyiv. The package will include Bradley infantry fighting vehicles and howitzer self-propelled vehicles.

Previously, Germany said it would supply Kyiv with a number of Marder infantry fighting vehicles, while France would send an AMX-10 RC wheeled tank to Ukraine. Most recently, Poland and Finland expressed their readiness to send a German-made Leopard 2 tank to Ukraine.
