Kakorlantas: Travelers Who Do Not Comply With The Health Protocol Will Undergo An Antigen Rapid Test

JAKARTA - Police Traffic Police Head Inspector General of Police. Istiono said his team would carry out a random antigen rapid / swab test to travelers during the New Year 2021 holiday who did not comply with health protocols.

"Approximately the antigen swab is intended for people with unhealthy health conditions, please check their health," said Istiono in a press release, Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, December 29.

"Well, if the officer finds a group of cars that do not comply with the health protocol, we will direct it here for a random check so that it knows whether it is positive or negative. Here, free antigen swabs are carried out."

This was conveyed by Kakorlantas when reviewing the implementation of the 2020 Candle Operation at KM 575 Rest Area, Ngawi, East Java, Monday, December 28.

Istiono added that on Monday, 100 people who passed the toll road had taken this rapid antigen test.

"This random check consists of 100 people who have been checked. This will be routinely carried out until January 4 when the flow is back," said Istiono.

Istiono said that this activity was to reduce the spread of COVID-19 transmission.

Regarding the flow of homecoming for the New Year 2021, Kakorlantas predicts that the peak of the homecoming flow will occur on December 30 and 31, 2020.

Therefore, various traffic security preparations have been prepared, including to oversee the implementation of health protocols, in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

"On December 30 to 31 this will be the peak of the new year's homecoming flow," he said.

In the implementation of the 2020 Candle Operation nationally, Kakorlantas ensures that the Police together with the ranks of the TNI and related stakeholders will carry out maximum and periodic security.

This follows the government's appeal to eliminate Christmas and New Year celebrations that gather large numbers of people to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The police and the TNI and their staff continue to monitor and maintain the traffic security situation. New year's eve activities are prohibited.

"Permits for crowds at certain points, such as in hotels, were not issued. In addition, the Chief of Police's Declaration on crowd issues has also been issued. There are no activities to celebrate New Year's Eve to prevent the spread of COVID-19," said Istiono.

In the 2020 Candle Operation review activity at the KM 575 Ngawi Rest Area, Kakorlantas was accompanied by Dirlantas Polda East Java and its ranks.

He said that the number of personnel in Operation Lilin 2020 was 123,451 joint police / TNI personnel and related stakeholders throughout Indonesia.

The deployment of personnel, he said, was focused on securing bus terminals, airports, stations, ports, churches, tourist attractions and homecoming routes.
