The Poor In Southeast Sulawesi Will Increase By 4.95 Thousand People In 2022

Southeast Sulawesi Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Statistist, Ahmad Luqman, said the number of poor people in Southeast Sulawesi in September 2022 was 314.74 thousand people, an increase of 4.95 thousand people compared to March 2022.

Quoted by Antara, Monday, January 16, the percentage of poor people in urban areas in Southeast Sulawesi in September 2022 was recorded at 7.22 percent, up 0.27 percentage points compared to March 2022.

Meanwhile, the percentage of poor people in rural areas in Southeast Sulawesi in September 2022 was 13.60 percent, up 0.03 percentage points from March 2022.

Ahmad Luqman said the number of poor people in urban areas increased by 3.77 thousand people from 69.94 thousand people in March 2022 to 73.71,000 people in September 2022.

The number of poor people in rural areas was recorded to have increased by 1.19 thousand people from 239.85 thousand people in March 2022 to 241.04 thousand people in September 2022.

The poverty line in September 2022 was recorded at IDR 432,464 per capita per month, which includes a food poverty line of IDR 326,264 (75.44 percent) and a non-food poverty line of IDR 106,200 (24.56 percent).

Meanwhile, the Gini Ratio in rural areas during that period was recorded at 0.341, down from the Gini Ratio in March 2022 which was 0.352 and the Gini Ratio in September 2021 which was 0.353.
