Sandiaga Uno Select Situbondo Becomes The Location Of The World Class Religious Tourism Conference

JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno inaugurated the construction of the Religi Sukorejo Tourism Area which will later become a venue for international religious tourism conferences in Situbondo.

The construction of the Sukorejo religious tourism area, the results of collaboration between the central government, local governments and the management of the Salafiyah Syafiiyah Islamic boarding school using the 2022 Special Allocation Fund (DAK).

"I would like to thank the Regent of Situbondo and Pak Kiai, because this was done quickly. Because 18 months ago we came here and initiated it, the government immediately executed a collaboration with the local government, thank God we inaugurated it today," said Sandiaga, Sunday, January 15.

Sandiaga sees the potential for Religi Tourism in Situbondo as extraordinary, in terms of destinations also continue to be prepared and do not forget to prepare creative economy and event products.

"Because this first stage religious tourism area has been completed and we have inaugurated it, later there will also be further stages, I see an opportunity to combine religious tourism in Indonesia with religious tourism, which so far has been more Indonesian people going abroad," said Sandiaga Uno.

Meanwhile, in order to trigger the construction of the next stage, Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno said his party had initiated an event, namely an international conference on religious tourism in Situbondo which would invite a minimum of seven countries, namely Turkey, Uzbekistan, Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, Morocco, Several European countries.

"We want the event to be prepared immediately. Apart from the number of students reaching 17 thousand, we can increase them to be able to accept both domestic and foreign tourists who want to travel religiously here." said Sandiaga Uno.

His party will also make a travel map, which will be one of the stops in Sukorejo or the horseshoe religious tourist spot which is the branding area for religious tourism here.

"We also want the completeness in Pondok to continue to increase so that it attracts the economic movement and the community can experience it firsthand, so as to create business opportunities and employment opportunities," he concluded.
