PKB: Ma'ruf Amin Gives A Support Signal Muhaimin Iskandar In The 2024 General Election

Deputy Chairperson of the National Awakening Party DPP Jazilul Fawaid stated that Vice President Ma'ruf Amin had given a signal of support to Muhaimin Iskandar in the 2024 election.

According to him, Ma'ruf Amin conveyed this implied support when opening the Ijtima Ulama Nusantara in Jakarta, Friday, January 13.

"It has become a signal for us, the presence of the Ma'ruf kiai in the ijtima ulama forum, including the statement that this is a young time, it is enough to conclude that it is support for Gus Muhaimin," Jazilul said as quoted by Antara, Saturday, January 14.

The same thing was conveyed by the Deputy Secretary of the PKB Syuro Council Maman Imanulhaq, who said Ma'ruf Amin in his opening remarks of Ijtima Ulama emphasized that he was part of the PKB.

"This is part of the youth, Gus Muhaimin's part and for the kiai it is a support, although it is not open," he said.

In fact, said Maman, a number of kiai who attended ijtima asked Vice President Ma'ruf Amin to name Muhaimin Iskandar.

Previously, the National Awakening Party (PKB) held the Ijtima Ulama Nusantara on January 13-14, 2023 in Jakarta.

The event, which was initiated by the PKB DPP Shura Council, took the theme "Ulama Bangkit Bersatu Menjaga Indonesia".

Ijtima tersebut dibuka Wakil Presiden RI Ma'ruf Amin pada Jumat, 13 Januari 2023.

Maruf emphasized that he would no longer run in the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections.

"I'm old, I'm almost 80 years old," he said.

Ma'ruf said that he was old enough to decide to run again in the upcoming presidential election, so according to him, the opportunity for the upcoming presidential election should be given to younger figures.

"I'm old enough. I must have given opportunities to the younger ones," he asserted.
