Obtained An Additional Commander's Title In Pangkalpinang, Moeldoko: There Is A Responsibility To Maintain Customary Istiadat

PANGKALPINANG - Presidential Chief of Staff Dr. Moeldoko has just been awarded the title of Commander again. However, unlike the title of Commander given by the Indonesian National Army (TNI), the title of Commander was given by the Pangkalpinang City Customary Meeting High Council, Bangka Belitung Province.

The Honorary Prosperity for the Indigenous Title that was awarded to Moeldoko, namely Dato Sri Radendo, Panglima Benteng Negeri (Datuk Sri Rdo).

"I would like to express my respect and gratitude for being awarded the title of custom. But behind this title, of course, there is a responsibility to participate in maintaining the customs, culture, and values of the local community. I also have to accelerate the development of the city of Pangkalpinang in accordance with my duties as the Presidential Chief of Staff," said Moeldoko at the awarding ceremony. Indigenous degrees in Pangkalpinang, Friday, January 13.

Moeldoko is considered worthy of being given an award in the form of a traditional title for his dedication to the welfare of the farmers, his concern for the preservation of the customs of the country's culture, his commitment to national unity and integrity, and his expertise in providing protection for the community.

"Comply with my commander in chief," joked Moeldoko.

It should be noted that Moeldoko has held at least 4 Commander's titles in the Indonesian military, including the Commander of the I/Kostrad Infantry Division, Commander of Kodam XII/Tanjungpura, Commander of Kodam III/Siliwangi and Commander of the TNI.

"The fifth is the title of Commander from the city of Pangkalpinang, the city of a thousand smiles," he added.

Not only receiving the traditional title, but Moeldoko also signed an amenity inscription and inaugurated the culinary center of Pasir Padi Beach in Pangkalpinang City. The event was also attended by Acting Governor Bangka Belitung Ridwan Djamaluddin and the Mayor of Pangkalpinang Maulan Aklil.

In his remarks, Moeldoko advised that the Pasir Padi Beach tourism sector be developed by focusing on 3 aspects, namely Attraction (seni, culture, customs), Accessibility (roads, public transportation) and Amenity (public facilities, lodging, culinary spots).

"This Pangkalpinang area is only 104,506 km2, the population is only 236,569. The only beach is Pasir Padi Beach. But we do not give up. I hope Pak Moeldoko will also introduce Pangkalpinang to the public at the national and even international level," said Mayor Maulan Aklil.
