JAKARTA - VP Corporate Secretary of PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) Syachrial Syarif admitted that his party has not taken care of submitting sponsors to finance the 2023 Formula E event, which will be held in the next five months, namely 3 and 4 June.
Syachrial admitted that the BUMD belonging to the DKI Provincial Government, which is the organizer of Formula E, is still drafting the concept of a race title until it matures.
"No sponsorship yet. The big concept must be prepared first, yes," said Syachrial at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Thursday, January 12.
Syachrial explained that Jakpro as the BUMD organizer of Formula E will still coordinate intensively with FEO as the license holder of Formula E regarding the preparation of the team that will be assigned to this electric car racing event.
In addition, the format of the event and the concept of the Jakarta E-Prix race is still in the brewing stage. What is clear is that the general form of the event is no different from the 2022 event.
"The event format is still the same as last year," he said.
Regarding the sponsor of Formula E, Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono invited state-owned enterprises (BUMN) to sponsor the implementation of Formula E this year.
In the 2022 event, former Chairman of the Formula E Committee Ahmad Sahroni at that time asked SOE Minister Erick Thohir to have a state-owned company that could participate in sponsoring the electric car racing event. However, none of the SOEs glanced at him.
"Go ahead (BUMN sponsoring Formula E)," said Heru at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Monday, January 9.
However, Heru was reluctant to take care of the process of implementing Formula E, including financing his activities. This is because Formula E was held with a business to business (B2B) scheme between PT Jakpro and Formula E Operation (FEO) as license holders for Formula E.
"That's a business, please. How does (Jakpro submit) the proposal, go ahead," he said.
For information, FEO has included the implementation schedule in Jakarta on June 3 and 4, 2023 in its race calendar.
"2023 is included in the FEO race calendar which was officially announced through its web. The event will be held for 2 days, tentatively, June 3 and 4," said VP Corporate Secretary of PT Jakarta Propertindo Syachrial Syarif in a short message, Friday, January 6.
Syachrial explained that Jakpro as the BUMD organizer of Formula E will still coordinate intensively with FEO as the license holder of Formula E regarding the preparation of the team that will be assigned to this electric car racing event.
In addition, the format of the Jakarta E-Prix racing event and concept is still in the brewing stage. Likewise with sponsorship candidates who will participate in this year's race.
"Jakpro again hopes for the support of all parties so that the global campaign sustainability can run smoothly," said Syachrial.
