This Fake Doctor With Elementary School Certificate Tricks A Woman Into Buying A Car

JAKARTA - The Central Jakarta Metro Police arrested a fake doctor with the initials MW who cheated a number of women to get money.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Heru Novianto said the fraud was exposed when one of the victims, RF, found out the background of the fake doctor.

"In his admission, MW admits that a doctor needs money for a medical business, for COVID-19 drugs, but the money is used to buy a car," Heru said as quoted by Antara, Sunday, December 27.

Heru said MW was an ordinary citizen. From his diploma, MW is only an Elementary School (SD) graduate.

MW also never practiced as a fake doctor. His mode, he approached several women through a matchmaking application.

"We have examined four victims, but there are developments that we 'track' from their cellphones. The total money from the victims is hundreds of millions," Heru said.

With capital, the perpetrator was desperate to wear a snelli, stethoscope and several other medical devices, approaching a victim via social media.

In his rented house in the Cempaka Putih area, there is equipment that resembles medical equipment, but he admits that he has never practiced medicine.

This made the victims believe so that one of them was promised to be married. One of the victims was willing to provide food and rent which, if calculated, was worth Rp. 80 million.

Heru advised residents to be careful with introductions via social media, especially for teenage girls. MW is threatened with Article 372 of the Criminal Code on embezzlement and 378 of the Criminal Code for fraud.
