The DPR Brings Work Creation Perppu And Election Perppu To Be Administrative Of Factions

JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, said that the presidential letter related to the Job Creation Perppu and the Election Perppu has been submitted to the House of Representatives since the recess. The DPR leadership will bring the two Perppu to a leadership meeting (rapim) and the deliberation body (Bamus) to be assessed by the factions in the relevant commissions. Dasco said the two Perppu had also been reported in the plenary meeting of the opening of the DPR session today, Tuesday, January 10. "Because the letter entered the recess period, of course, according to the mechanism we will carry out rapid (leading meeting) and bamus (employed body), then they will be asked to review the related technical commission," said Dasco at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, January 10.

For the discussion on the Job Creation Perppu and the Election Perppu related to the New Autonomous Region, Dasco emphasized, it will be adjusted to the mechanism in the laws and regulations for making laws (UU PPP). "There are details there. We will follow according to existing mechanisms," explained Dasco. It is known that President Jokowi has issued a Government Regulation in Lieu of Law (Perppu) Number 2 of 2022 concerning Job Creation (Ciptaker), Friday, December 30, 2022. Jokowi claims that Indonesia's current normal situation is still shrouded in threats of global uncertainty.

On that basis, the government argued that the issuance of the Ciptaker Perppu which had previously been declared conditionally unconstitutional by the Constitutional Court (MK). In addition to the Job Creation Perppu, President Jokowi has issued Perppu Number 1 of 2022 concerning Amendments to Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections. This Perppu is related to the follow-up to the implementation of the 2024 General Election in four New Autonomy Regions (DOB) in Papua.

In this Election Perppu, several crucial matters are regulated, including the KPU forming the Provincial KPU in South Papua Province, Central Papua Province, Papua Mountains Province, and Southwest Papua Province which is contained in Article 10A.
