New Covid-19 Cases Back Above 2,000, DKI Jakarta Provincial Government Calls Hundreds Of Data Delayed In Reporting

JAKARTA - The increase in new cases of COVID-19 in DKI has reached over 2,000 today. To be precise, there were 2,058 new positive confirmed cases recorded in the Capital City.

The high number of new cases in Jakarta also occurred in the development of new cases on Friday, December 25, namely 2,096 cases. This figure reached a new record during the pandemic in DKI.

Head of Disease Prevention and Control Division, DKI Jakarta Provincial Health Office, Dwi Oktavia said, new case data did not purely occur today. Because, there are hundreds of data that have been reported late since last December 24.

"The total addition of positive cases was 2,058 cases because there were accumulated data of 199 cases from 1 BUMN Hospital laboratory, on December 24, 2020 which were just reported," Dwi said in a written statement, Saturday, December 26.

Based on the latest data from the DKI Health Office, 13,690 specimens have been carried out. Of these, 11,871 people had PCR tested today to diagnose new cases with a positive result of 1,859 and 10,012 negative.

In total, the confirmed cases of COVID-19 in DKI to date have reached 173,929 cases. Of the total number of cases, 156,798 people were declared cured with a 90.2 percent cure rate.

Meanwhile, a total of 3,182 people died with a death rate of 1.8 percent, while Indonesia's death rate was 3 percent.

"The number of active cases in Jakarta has decreased by 513 cases, so the number of active cases to date is 13,949 people who are still being treated or in isolation," said Dwi.

The positivity rate or percentage of positive cases in the past week in Jakarta was 11.1 percent, while the percentage of positive cases in total was 8.6 percent. This figure is above the WHO standard which sets a positivity rate of not more than 5 percent.
