Pope Francis Invites His People To Help Others On Christmas Day

JAKARTA - The great leader of the Catholics, Pope Francis, celebrates the Christmas Eve mass simply. This was done to break the chain of spreading COVID-19. During the Mass, Pope Francis also advised that this Christmas moment was the most appropriate to help others.

Pope Francis launched a message of helping others based on the fact that Jesus Christ himself was born as a poor outcast. For that, every poor person is a child of God who must be helped.

"The child of God was born as an outcast, to tell us that everyone who is outcast is a child of God," said Francis.

He also added that the momentum of Christmas is the right time to reflect. Which was the reflection focused on so many unfortunate brothers and sisters. Instead of pursuing happiness, they have a lot of trouble.

"God came between us in poverty and need, to tell us that in serving the poor, we will show our love for him," he added.

Meanwhile, Christmas mass is held in the back of St. Peter's Basilica. Mass attendees were not more than 100 people. Even then, only a small number of cardinals and bishops. This figure is a far cry from the Christmas mass which is usually held in the main part of the Basilica and is attended by up to 10,000 people, including the diplomatic corps representing nearly 200 countries.
