Kendari Police found a nine-month-old baby named Askah who was the victim of a kidnapping using a sharp weapon (sajam) in Kendari City.

Kendari Police Chief Kombes Pol Muhammad Eka Fathurrahman said the baby was found by the Buser Team 77 of the Kendari Police Criminal Investigation Unit around Jalan Boulevard, Kendari City.

"Alhamdulillah, at 23.30 WITA, we have found a baby reported by his parents, kidnapped by an unknown person this afternoon. The baby was found around Jalan Boulevard in Kendari City," he said by telephone Thursday night, January 5, confiscated by Antara.

Eka said that the Kendari Police Buser 77 Team found the baby safe. Then he was taken to the Bhayangkara Kendari Hospital for a health check on the baby.

He said that his party is currently still pursuing the perpetrators of the baby kidnapping, because they have fled.

"The perpetrator is still being chased, considering that we prioritized the baby first and tonight we took it to Bhayangkara Hospital to check the condition of the baby, before we handed it over to his parents," said Kombes Eka.

Previously, the baby who was the third child of the couple La Saali and Mardiana was kidnapped by an unknown person (OTK) in Kendari Caddi Village, Kendari District, Kendari City at around 12.30 WITA.

The baby was kidnapped by OTK from the hands of his father using a sharp weapon. The perpetrator of the kidnapping attacked the baby's father, resulting in injuries to his left hand.

Kendari Police, who received the report, immediately pursued the perpetrator until they managed to find the baby after approximately 10 hours of searching. While the perpetrator is still being searched.
