Circulating Telegram Of FPI Disbandment, Police: We Check

JAKARTA - A photo of the Police's telegram (ST) letter issued by the National Police Chief General Idham Azis has circulated. The contents of the letter are related to the dissolution of a number of community organizations (Ormas) in Indonesia.

Among others, the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) of Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI), the Anti-Shia National Alliance (Annas), Jamaah Ansarut Tauhid (JAT), the Indonesian Mujahidin Council (MMI), and the Islamic Community Forum (FUI).

This telegram letter numbered STR / 965 / XII / IPP.3.1.6. / 2020 which was signed by Wakabaintelkam Irjen Suntana, it was written that President Joko Widodo had signed the Perppu regarding the dissolution of mass organizations.

So, by referring to the Perppu, the dissolution of mass organizations becomes government policy in dealing with mass organization problems that are not in accordance with Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution (UUD) and the applicable regulations in the Republic of Indonesia.

"It is legally not allowed to carry out its organizational activities," was quoted as saying in the contents of the telegram, Thursday, December 24.

Confirming the veracity of this telegram letter, the Head of Public Relations of the Indonesian Police, Inspector General Argo Yuwono, could not comment. Either confirm or deny. Because, he admitted that he had not received this information.

"I have not monitored this. It will be checked later," Argo told reporters, Thursday, December 24.
