Jasa Marga Records 174 Thousand Vehicles Leaving Jakarta On D-2 Christmas

JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk recorded 174,678 vehicles leaving Jakarta on December 23 or D-2 for the 2020 Christmas holiday. This figure is the cumulative flow of traffic from several Barrier / Main Toll Gates (GT).

The main toll gates in question are GT Cikupa to the West, GT Ciawi towards the South, and GT Cikampek Utama and GT Kalihurip Utama to the East.

Corporate Communication & Community Development Group Head of PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk Dwimawan Heru said the total volume of traffic leaving Jakarta increased 34.5 percent compared to normal traffic.

"For the distribution of traffic leaving Jakarta from the three directions, the majority are 89,866 vehicles heading East, 48,596 vehicles heading West and 36,216 heading South," he said, in a written statement received by VOI, Thursday, December 24.

As for the details, heading east via GT Cikampek Utama 1, there were 53,737 vehicles leaving Jakarta. This figure is an increase of 77.1 percent from normal traffic. Meanwhile, from GT Kalihurip Utama 1, 36,129 vehicles left Jakarta. This figure shows a decrease of 25.3 percent from normal traffic.

"The total number of vehicles leaving Jakarta to the East is 89,866 vehicles, an increase of 51.9 percent from normal traffic," he said.

Meanwhile, from the GT Cikupa Tangerang-Merak Toll Road, there were 48,596 vehicles leaving Jakarta heading west. This figure is down 4.8 percent from normal traffic.

"The number of vehicles leaving Jakarta to the South / Local direction via GT Ciawi 1 Jagorawi Toll Road is 36,216 vehicles, an increase of 48.6 percent from normal traffic," he said.

Jasa Marga, Heru said, appealed to toll road users to be able to anticipate trips before entering the toll road. Make sure both the vehicle and the driver are in top condition, comply with health protocols by using a mask, wash hands and keep a distance while in the Rest Area.
