JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri said the health of Papua Governor Lukas Enembe, who is a suspect in alleged corruption, continues to be monitored.

Even though Lukas was able to go around inaugurating four buildings belonging to the local government, the KPK did not want to rush to take action. Firli said the suspect's health was still a concern for his side.

"Until today, we are still paying attention to his health condition," said Firli, quoted from the Indonesian KPK YouTube show, Wednesday, January 4.

Firli did not want to rashly declare Lukas healthy because he toured four places. He said only doctors can decide.

Even so, Firli ensured that the alleged corruption case that ensnared Lukas would be completely resolved. Including, considering whether or not the regional head was granted treatment abroad.

"Of course we are also considering this, but what is certain is that our desire to enforce the law that upholds human rights is because actually the safety of the soul is the highest law," he said.

Lukas inaugurated the government-owned building on December 30 last. It is hoped that the building can provide prosperity for the people of Bumi Cenderawasih.

"So these offices are very magnificent where the construction of an extraordinary office is. For that, young people please use it and take good care of this building," he said in Jayapura as reported by ANTARA, Friday, December 30.

The inaugurated office is the office of the Governor of Papua; office of the General Election Commission (KPU) Papua; Papuan People's Assembly (MRP); Papuan Bureau of Goods and Services Procurement (BPBJ) and Samsat offices in three districts, five Jayapura Hospital Service buildings and Keppi Port in Mappi Regency.

Previously, Lukas Enembe had been named a suspect in alleged corruption by the KPK. However, he did not fulfill the investigator's summons because he claimed to be sick.

Furthermore, the KPK left for Jayapura on Thursday, November 3 to examine Lukas. The examination was carried out at his home.

At that time, the KPK team consisting of independent doctors and investigators were present led by KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri. Arriving in Jayapura, Firli had a chance to talk with Lukas.

During the conversation, Firli asked about Lukas' condition and spoke for about 15 minutes. Even so, Lukas' examination did not last long because he was sick.

In investigating the case that ensnared Lukas, the KPK has summoned a number of witnesses. Most of them were asked by investigators about the purchase of various assets made by the Governor of Papua.
