Central Kalimantan Regional Secretary Nuryakin said the governor's plan together with several regents and chairmans of the DPRD would have an audience with the central government which is currently being scheduled. Nuryakin explained that the potential of regions that can be marketed has a number of references or benchmarks, including in terms of population, infrastructure availability, economy, natural resources and others. "Of course, these considerations have a calculation and the one who thinks is the central government," said Nuryakin. According to him, there will be measured variables and if you look at the economic movement, it is indeed in the West Kotawaringin and East Kotawaringin Regencies, let alone having a port so that it allows wider economic access. However, he said that if you look at the Barito area in Central Kalimantan as a buffer for the State Capital (IKN) in East Kalimantan, it is possible if it is developed. "If that's the case, it could no longer refer to the rules, for example, it must at least cover five districts as a condition for demarcation, but if the government's interests are greater, such as the need for a closer buffer, then it could be the central government's thinking," he said.
