JAKARTA - The Supreme Court (MA) stated that the performance of the judiciary remained maximal even though two Supreme Court justices, Sudrajad Dimyati and Gazalba Saleh, and several of the institution's apparatus, stumbled on allegations of corruption. "Although the incident that happened to two Supreme Court justices and several Supreme Court officials has devastated us, I make sure the performance of the case settlement is not disturbed at all," said Supreme Court Chairman Muhammad Syarifuddin in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, January 3. The number of cases entering in 2022 increased by 47.57 percent from the previous 19,209 to 28,347 cases so that the total caseload in 2022 plus 175 cases remaining in 2021 was 28,522 cases. Until December 29, 2022, the Supreme Court succeeded in deciding 28,371 cases or 99.47 percent of the total caseload in 2022 as many as 28,522 cases. The productivity ratio of deciding these cases exceeded the set target, namely 75 percent or 24.47 percent higher and 1.7 percent increased from 2021. Meanwhile, the productivity of case mitation performance increased significantly from in 2021, 21,586 cases will be 30,195 cases in 2022, an increase of 39.88 percent. "The number of cases mitigating in 2022 is the highest record in the history of the Supreme Court," said Syarifuddin. Finally, until December 29, 2022, there are 151 remaining cases. This number is still temporary and can change because on December 30, 2022, there will still be trials and the data has not been submitted to the 2022 Supreme Court performance report.
