JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating AKBP Bambang Kayun who has been named a suspect in alleged bribery and gratification. He was questioned today, Tuesday, January 3.

"Currently, the suspect is on the 2nd floor of the KPK's Red and White Building and is still undergoing examination accompanied by his team of legal advisers," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Tuesday, January 3.

Ali has not detailed the examination. He only stated that developments would be communicated transparently to the public.

"Further developments will be conveyed," he said.

Previously, the KPK had picked up witnesses in this case who were absent from the investigator's summons on Wednesday, December 28. He is a private person named Yayanti.

This forced pick-up was carried out because investigators needed information regarding the alleged bribery and gratification that ensnared AKBP Bambang Kayun.

Bambang Kayun was named a suspect in alleged bribery and gratification related to falsification of letters during the case for the seizure of the rights of the heirs of PT Aria Citra Mulia (ACM). He is suspected of getting billions of rupiah to the Toyota Alphard car.

The KPK then summoned him on December 23. It's just that he was not present without reason to investigators.

In this case, Bambang has also filed a pretrial at the South Jakarta District Court. He sued because he did not accept being named a suspect by the KPK.

However, the lawsuit was rejected by the Sole Judge of the South Jakarta District Court, Agung Sutomo Thoba. Bambang's determination as a suspect is considered to have complied with the procedure.
