The General Election Commission (KPU) of Central Java stated that the registration file for candidates for the Regional Representative Council (DPD) on behalf of Taj Yasin Maimoen was complete and met the requirements.

"After we examined and calculated, the results met the minimum limit of support and distribution," said Central Java KPU chairman Paulus Widiyantoro in Semarang, Monday, January 2, quoted from Antara.

Furthermore, the Central Java KPU will carry out administrative verification of the registration files for prospective members of the DPD RI in the 2024 General Election.

Taj Yasin Maimoen currently serves as Deputy Governor of Central Java accompanying Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo for the 2018-2023 period.

Prior to serving as Deputy Governor of Central Java, Taj Yasin Maimoen, who was the son of the late charismatic cleric KH Maimoen Zubair, was listed as a member of Commission E of the Central Java Provincial DPRD from the United Development Party faction.

Paulus further revealed, until the deadline for registering candidates for DPD members, namely Thursday (29/12), there were 13 prospective candidates who submitted registration documents at the Central Java KPU office.

A total of 13 registrants who submitted registration documents and 12 of them were received and given a receipt for their handover, "he said.

Apart from Tak Yasin Maimoen, there were 11 people who registered as candidates for DPD RI members, among others,,

Casytha Arriwi Kathmandu and Abdul Kholik who were incumbents, then Nor Rohman, Ahmad Baligh Muaidi, Agus Mujayanto, Lamaatus Shobah Dimyati Rois, and Joko Dalmantyo.

Meanwhile, Taj Yasin Maimoen has not responded when confirmed regarding his candidacy as a senator.
