JAKARTA Having been missing for several days at sea, the joint SAR team finally managed to find the whereabouts of four crew members of the TB Muara Sejati ship in the waters of the Tanjung Binga Sea, Belitung Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands (Babel), in a safe condition.

It is known that the four crew members had previously sent a dangerous signal (distress alert) in the Karimata Strait region since Saturday, December 30, 2022.

"The four victims are in safe condition. Currently, the Joint SAR Team has evacuated the victims to the Tanjung Binga Belitung Tourism Center," said Head of the Pangkalpinang Search and Rescue Office, I Made Oka Astawa to VOI, Monday, December 2.

I Made Oka Astawa explained, of the four crew members who were rescued, they were the captain, the driver, the helmsman and the oiler. Everything is safe.

The incident occurred when the ship sank in a matter of minutes. Then the 4 crew members who survived tried to save themselves.

"The information we got was that the TB (ship) condition sank in a matter of minutes. Then the crew saved themselves using liferaft and washed away in the waters of Tanjung binga belitung," he said.

Before finding and evacuating victims, Tagana found the whereabouts of Liferaft. Then report to the Tanjung Pandan SAR Alert Unit Post. So that the joint SAR team in Belitung found the liferaft and succeeded in evacuating the victims.

"Currently, the four crew who survived were evacuated to the tourism health center in Tanjung Binga Belitung," he said.
