KUPANG - A Telkomsel tower in Roho Village, Buyasuri District, Lembata Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province, collapsed due to strong winds that hit the village for five consecutive days. The head of Roho Village, Jamaludin Abu, said the tower or tower of Telkomsel collapsed on Sunday, January 1 yesterday at around 23.00 WITA. "Since strong winds first hit this village, residents here are already worried because the tower continues to shake when it is hit by the wind," he said when contacted by ANTARA from Kupang, Monday, January 2. Then on the third and fourth days, several bolts from the telecommunications tower began to come off. Residents whose houses were right below them immediately took refuge for a while for fear of being hit by a tower. A number of residents in the village were also initially worried and had predicted that the tower would be broken on Sunday night. “ So last night someone witnessed the Telkomsel tower directly, it was broken,” he said. He said that none of the fatalities were affected by the broken Telkomsel tower, but another loss suffered was agricultural products damaged by being hit by iron from the tower. Jamaludin said he had appealed to his citizens not to interfere with the tower, because they didn't want anything to happen. Now, he said, to be able to communicate cellularly, local residents must look for certain locations that can get Telkomsel networks from other villages whose networks reach Roho Village. "But if you go home, the network is gone," he said. Therefore, he hopes that related parties, especially Telkomsel, can immediately send officers to tidy up the faults of the tower and build new ones.
