Workers The Issuance Value Of Job Creation Perppu Is Better THAN The Improvement Of The Law Throws To The DPR

JAKARTA - The Labor Party considers that the issuance of a Government Regulation in Lieu of Law (Perppu) Number 2 of 2022 concerning Job Creation (Ciptaker) by President Joko Widodo, is better than the revision of the Law submitted to the DPR RI. The reason is that workers do not believe that the DPR must take care of the revision of the Job Creation Law which was decided by the Constitutional Court (MK). "So Perppu is allowed, so we use the first opinion, rather than being given the DPR which we do not believe in," said the President of the Labor Party, Said Iqbal, in a virtual press conference, Saturday, December 31. Said assessed that the emergency reasons for issuing the Perppu were in accordance with applicable regulations. Although the reason is different from the Labor Party, but he said, it is better because his party does not believe in the DPR.

"The wage certificate never goes up, the outsourcing emergency is rampant, easy to lay off, easy-hiring, easy-firing, emergency contract workers over and over again, emergency severance pay is small. On that basis, we chose Perppu," said Said.

"If the contents of the Perppu do not match the proposed expectations, the Labor Party and the union organization of course we reject Perppu, of course there will be legal steps to re-determine judicial steps to take action," he continued.

Furthermore, Said said, the Labor Party had held a dialogue with the government regarding the Job Creation Law. He said, there are 9 points that are proposed to be improved, especially the labor cluster.

In fact, added Said, the proposed version of the Labor Party and labor unions has been discussed with the Kadin team, dialogue, and social dialogue. "Our attitude is to return to the red 2003 Law 13 of 2003. So we don't play games rather than be discussed in the DPR, we don't believe it, only the politicization is full of lies at that time. We don't want to fall in the same hole. I believe President Jokowi heard as long as he has strong arguments. I believe that the contents of the Perppu are as expected," concluded Said.
