Risma Becomes Minister Of Social Affairs, Eri Cahyadi: She Cannot Always See Troubled People

SURABAYA - The elected Mayor of Surabaya, Eri Cahyadi, is proud of Tri Rismaharini (Risma) who is the minister of social affairs. Eri spoke of his experiences when working together at the Surabaya City Government.

"We, as residents of Surabaya, and former Surabaya municipal government bureaucrats who have worked with him, are certainly very proud of this news. We wish him success in carrying out this noble mandate," said Eri Cahyadi to reporters, Wednesday, December 23.

Eri Cahyadi is optimistic that Risma will be able to bring about transformation at the Ministry of Social Affairs through an information technology (IT) approach. Risma in the Surabaya City Government is known as a pioneer of e-government, which has become the reference for many regions in the country.

"The IT approach is very relevant for data collection on the poor in an integrated manner. I think Mrs. Risma must already have a big picture about the future being able to integrate the population database and the poor. Everything can be integrated, I am sure Mrs. Risma already has a picture and can execute it," he explained. Eri.

He then recalled a number of tasks that had been done with the Surabaya City Government team at Risma's direction regarding data collection on underprivileged residents.

"At that time, we in the Surabaya City Government were given the task of integrating poverty data. At his direction, the MBR (Low-Income Community) application, online SKM (Poor Certificate) and SKBK (Health Assistance Certificate) were born online," he said. the former head of the Surabaya City Development Planning Agency (Bappeko).

"With an integrated system, all residents' problems can be quickly resolved, including health insurance, house renovations, scholarships, free food assistance every day, and so on," continued Eri Cahyadi.

According to him, one of the most prominent features in Risma's leadership is that she does not want to make it difficult for the citizens to take care of all the services provided by the government. Risma always wants residents to get services as easy as possible, either in the form of pick-up and using technology applications.

"For example, with the data collection on the poor with the MBR system, RT and RW administrators can immediately update data on residents who need assistance from the government without having to register themselves to enter the sub-district or sub-district," he explained.

Regarding the poor, Risma continued Eri Cahyadi is a person who is full of attention.

"In her Surabaya language, Mrs. Risma doesn't have the heart to see the residents in trouble. That's why in Surabaya she created a free food program for more than 30,000 residents every day. Food is delivered to residents' homes directly every morning," he said.

"Bu Risma also repaired social institutions, took care of street children, and even some street children who were treated and given scholarships have now succeeded in becoming entrepreneurs and executives of national companies," added Eri.

Eri Cahyadi is optimistic that Risma will be able to carry out the mandate as Social Minister well. Moreover, Risma is a typical hard worker.

"When it comes to work matters, Mrs. Risma is a total person, hardworking, because for her, the position is a mandate that must be held accountable to the hereafter. He repeatedly reminded us all, if you mess with your position, the punishment will be until the afterlife, "said Eri.
