After Being Appointed As Menparekraf, Sandiaga Uno: Immediately Hand In Hand With My Friends

JAKARTA - The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno will immediately carry out the handover of the position with Wishnutama Kusubandio whom he calls an old friend. The ceremony will be held after he is inaugurated at the State Palace, Jakarta.

"After this, we will immediately work together with my old friend Mas Wishnutama," Sandiaga said in a press conference after the inauguration which was broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat YouTube account, Wednesday, December 23.

After the handover, there are a number of things he will do in the future, quickly and innovatively. Moreover, previously President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Vice President Ma'ruf Amin had asked for fundamental changes over the next year, including improvements to several things.

"That the direction of the president and vice president in one year there must be a quick win, there must be a fundamental change when we fix the five super priority destinations," he said.

"We have to innovate starting from clothing, 360 degree dances. Innovation in terms of infrastructure and everything related to tourism, creative economy, culinary, and fashion," Sandi.

In addition, he will continue to invite all parties engaged in the tourism sector and the creative economy to implement the CHSE or Cleanless, Health, Safety, and Environmental Sustainability protocol. This is important so that all parties in the industry and connoisseurs of tourism services can continue to carry out their activities amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Finally, he will also try to collaborate with all parties to create millions of jobs in the tourism sector and the creative economy.

"And we will fight to maintain and develop empowerment. So that we can open the widest possible job opportunities and maintain the level of income of the community, especially in the field of tourism and the creative economy," he said.

Previously, Sandiaga Uno was appointed by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) as Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy replacing Wishnutama. Sandiaga is the Deputy Chairman of the Gerindra Party Board of Trustees.

Apart from himself, Jokowi also appointed other names such as Tri Risma Harini as Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos), Wahyu Sakti Trenggono as Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Budi Gunadi Sadikin as Minister of Health, Yaqut Cholil Coumas as Minister of Religion, and Muhammad Lutfi as Minister of Trade.
