Police Uncover Middle East Network Drug Case, Seized 201 Kg Of Sabu At Petamburan Hotel

JAKARTA - Members of the Metro Jaya Police and the Red and White Task Force for the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police seized 201 kilograms of methamphetamine drugs at WIR Hotel, Jalan KS Tubun, Petamburan Village, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta.

Deputy Police Chief of Metro Jaya, Brigadier General Hendro Pandowo, said that drug case disclosure is an international network of two suspects.

"There are two suspects that we secure from this drug case," said Hendro Pandowo, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, December 22 evening.

Hendro said that the international drug network plans to distribute crystal methamphetamine in the DKI Jakarta area.

In order to be accountable for their actions, the two perpetrators were threatened with Article 114 of the Criminal Code and Law No. 35/2010 concerning drug abuse.

Meanwhile, Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Yusri Yunus, said that the perpetrator who was arrested was carrying 201 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine at the WIR Hotel, KS Tubun, Petamburan, Central Jakarta, was a Middle East network syndicate.

"Of these items there is the same code as 55, indeed a drug network from the Middle East," said Yusri.

According to Yusri, this disclosure originated from public information so that the joint team from the Red and White Task Force for the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police and Polda Metro Jaya investigated the existence of an international drug syndicate that plans to send methamphetamine-type drugs to the Jakarta area.

The police then managed to arrest 10 perpetrators. From their information, information developed about the existence of drugs being carried by another perpetrator.

The police managed to track down the perpetrator who in their original plan would be taken to a hotel in Petamburan.

"That is what then at around 22.00 WIB we managed to secure this illegal item and also one suspect who was here, a total of 11 suspects," said Yusri.

Based on the findings, the police confiscated 196 packages of crystal methamphetamine with the same sign as "55". Especially at the beginning of last year, the police also secured the drug traffickers in Serpong.

"If we look at the code, we still remember that on January 31, we managed to secure the Serpong area and shot dead the culprit at that time in the Serpong area when we left the toll road from Banten," said Yusri.
