IKA Undip: Avoid Political Identity In The 2024 Election

JAKARTA - The University of Diponegoro (Undip) Alumni Association (IKA) Semarang invites the public to avoid identity politics practices in the implementation of the 2024 General Election.

"Do not let the effects of campaigns or politics built on behalf of identity politics have a bad impact on our unity and integrity. That is the first, so we must avoid identity politics practices," said IKA DPP Chairman Undip Abdul Kadir Karding, Thursday, December 29.

IKA Undip, added Karding, also reminded all parties to maintain the unity and integrity of the Republic of Indonesia in the midst of increasing political dynamics as a common thing in the midst of holding elections.

He also conveyed that IKA Undip would take on a role as a catalyst for the nation's unity in the implementation of each stage of the 2024 General Election.

The invitation to avoid identity politics and maintain unity and unity in the midst of the 2024 General Election is one of the recommendations of IKA Undip compiled by the ad hoc team under the leadership of Kadir related to political contestation in Indonesia in 2024.

In addition to these two problems, IKA Undip also highlighted the dissemination of information about elections dominated by negative information so as to heat up the political situation in the country.

"Right now, there are various kinds of information about this election. Some are positive, but in our imagination there are many negative ones due to excessive provocations. Not yet the presidential and election elections have started, today (political situations) are getting warm," said Kadir.

Therefore, IKA Undip stated that she would take a joint role with election organizers to educate the public so that they would not be wrong in understanding electoral information or not easily provoked by negative news.

They will be present in the community to provide good and anti-hoax information so that it can cool the political situation in every stage of the 2024 General Election.
