Clashes Internally Of The Surakarta Palace, Central Java Police Proposed To Be Restorative Justice

Central Java (Central Java) Police Chief Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi asked for the conflict that occurred within the Surakarta Palace to be resolved by restorative justice or restorative justice.

"Regarding the palace conflict, the Head of Surakarta Police, Kombes Pol Iwan Saktiadi, I have directed restorative justice as much as possible, not the time for reporting to each other, dropping each other, which is not good," said the Kapolda at the 'End of 2022 Press Conference' at the Central Java Police Headquarters, Semarang, Central Java, Thursday, December 29.

Luthfi explained that the National Police as law enforcement officers will not interfere in the internal affairs of the Surakarta Palace. However, it can only be suggested to be resolved through mediation.

"We are just mediating, securing, facilitating, and dynamicators, we have been doing that for a long time," he said.

Luthfi also emphasized that the Central Java Police were not partial in looking at conflicts in the internal environment of the Surakarta Palace.

"Members of the National Police do not take sides, we carry out mediation and penetration," said Luthfi.

The Surakarta Palace is reportedly back in chaos for the umpteenth time allegedly triggered by an internal family conflict on Friday evening, December 23. As a result, a number of people were injured in the riots.

The riot allegedly occurred between Paku Buwono XIII (Hangabehi) and the camp of the Customary Council (LDA) led by GKR Koes Moertiyah or familiarly called Gusti Moeng.

Central Java Police are investigating the clashes by investigating whether there is evidence that leads to a criminal act. However, the Central Java Police still hopes that the two conflicting parties can take peaceful steps.
