The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating allegations of accepting bribes by AKBP Bambang Kayun from the private sector, Yayanti. The witness was forcibly picked up on Wednesday, December 28.

"The witness' knowledge was investigated, among others, related to the alleged receipt of a sum of money by the suspect in this case (Bambang Kayun)," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri in a written statement, Thursday, December 29.

Ali did not specify how much money Bambang received. However, it is suspected that the receipt was not made directly.

"Through banking transactions," he said.

Yayanti was forcibly picked up because she was absent from the summons of the KPK investigators. This pick-up is confirmed to have complied with the applicable laws and regulations.

Apart from Yayanti, the KPK also threatened to pick up Bambang, who is a suspect if he is not cooperative. Moreover, he was also absent at the first summons on Friday, December 23.

As previously reported, Bambang Kayun was named a suspect in alleged bribery and gratification related to falsification of letters during the case for the seizure of the rights of the heirs of PT Aria Citra Mulia (ACM). He is suspected of getting billions of rupiah in money to the Toyota Alphard car.

In this case, Bambang has also filed a pretrial at the South Jakarta District Court. He sued because he did not accept being named a suspect by the KPK.

However, the lawsuit was rejected by the Sole Judge of the South Jakarta District Court, Agung Sutomo Thoba. Bambang's determination as a suspect is considered to have complied with the procedure.
