Sandiaga's Strategy For The Position Of Menparekraf: Innovation, Adaptation And Collaboration

JAKARTA - Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno has three strategies that will be carried out when he is the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) when the COVID-19 pandemic hits.

First, Sandiaga will adopt an innovation strategy using technology assistance to restore tourism businesses and the creative economy.

"You can use big data approaches, current approaches, to map both potential and strengthening and ensure that the tourism sector and creative economy players can survive and seize the opportunity to become winners," Sandiaga said at the Merdeka Palace, Tuesday, December 22.

The second strategy Sandiaga will use is an adaptation strategy. Sandiaga will continue the Cleanliness, Health, Safety & Environment Sustainability (CHSE) certification program.

CHSE is the awarding of certificates to tourism businesses, tourism destinations and other tourism products to guarantee tourists the implementation of cleanliness, health, safety and environmental sustainability.

"Because we are now facing a pandemic, we prioritize health and safety in every tourism destination, and in every line of the creative economy. CHSE is one of them," he said.

In addition, Sandiaga will also strengthen collaboration with all levels of government, academics, universities, as well as the public and business world.

"We will collaborate with all government agencies, the central government, provincial governments, district / city governments, academics, universities, as well as the public and the business world such as friends of KADIN, HIPMI, PHRI and all associations that are members of the sector this is very, very important, "he said.

As previously reported, Sandiaga Uno was appointed by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to become Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy. Sandiaga is the Deputy Chairman of the Gerindra Party Board of Trustees.

"Second, I want to introduce you, but we all know Mr. Sandiaga Uno. He used to be the deputy governor of DKI Jakarta, Chairman of HIPMI and now we will give him the responsibility to lead the ministry of tourism and creative economy, "said Jokowi introducing his new minister at the State Palace.

Apart from Sandiaga, Jokowi also appointed five new ministers in their cabinet, namely Tri Risma Harini as Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos), Wahyu Sakti Trenggono as Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Budi Gunadi Sadikin as Minister of Health, Yaqut Cholil Coumas as Minister of Religion, and Muhammad Lutfi as Minister Minister of Trade.
