Lawyers For Victims Of Kanjuruhan Call The Ex-Kapolda Of East Java Not Visiting The Ethics Court Even Though They Have Been Complained

JAKARTA - Lawyers for victims of theceruhan Tragedy, Anjar Nawan Yusky, highlighted Inspector General Nico Afinta, who had not been tried for ethics. Even though Nico has been removed as the East Java Police Chief following the incident that killed 136 people.

According to him, Inspector General Nico Afinta is the police officer who must be responsible for the tragedy. Because, he had mentioned that the tear gas shot which became the number of fatalities had complied with the procedure.

"Although he knew at that time there were hundreds of people who died, it was said according to the procedure. This means that he confirmed the action," Anjar told reporters, Wednesday, December 28.

In addition, Inspector General Nico Afinta has been reported to the National Police Propam. The report is registered with the number SPSP2/7136/XI/2022/Bagyanduan.

However, there has been no follow-up to process the two-star general internally.

On the other hand, Anjar revealed three reasons why the former East Java Police Chief deserved an ethics trial. First, Inspector General Nico Afinta was the highest at the security handling during the Arema FC match against Persebaya Surabaya at the Kanjuruhan Malang Stadium which ended in chaos on September 1 October.

"To mobilize the surrounding Polres, it requires the role of the Regional Police. All of that is under the command of the East Java Police," he said.

Then, security at the Kanjuruhan Stadium when the tragedy occurred involved Brimob members. According to him, the police unit could only be deployed by the Regional Police.

"Brimob belongs to the Regional Police. Police do not have Brimob. The highest leader at the Polda level is Dansat Brimob, Kombes is his rank. He is under the direct police chief," he said

Finally, regarding the crowd permit that was applied at the Kanjuruhan Stadium and its surroundings. It is said that the party that issued it, namely Inspector General Nico Afinta.

"Actually, this is a clue from the TGIPF team. We encourage that the facts, the findings formed by the president are not in vain," said Anjar.
