Around A Church In Jakarta, PJ Governor Heru Budi: We Make Sure Christmas Worship Runs Well

JAKARTA - Jakarta Governor Heru Budi Hartono and the ranks of the DKI Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) toured a number of churches ahead of the 2022 Christmas Eve mass.

Heru reviewed the preparations for the Christmas celebration of wearing a golden yellow batik. During the review, heru greeted church leaders and Christians who would perform worship.

The head of the Presidential Secretariat ensured that the Christmas service in churches took place safely.

"We are here to greet Christians who will perform worship ahead of Christmas and we wish you a Merry Christmas in 2022, romo and the entire congregation, we make sure it can go well during worship from this afternoon until tomorrow," said Heru at the Jakarta Cathedral Church, Saturday, 24 December.

Heru also hopes that the celebration of Christmas Day tomorrow can also take place safely and smoothly. Bearing in mind, the TNI and Polri officers have been closely guarded.

"We, the regional government and the TNI and Polri as well as the entire community participate in securing the worship carried out by Christians in Jakarta," he said.

Continuing, the Archbishop of Jakarta Ignatius Suharyo thanked the ranks of the DKI Jakarta Forkopimda who had tried to bring a sense of security to Christians to carry out Christmas services.

"We will always try to nurture the people so that this Christmas spirit encourages all people to become good citizens, not to trouble the governors and our regional leaders, but instead to support everything that is planned according to our respective roles in various functions in the midst of society," explained Ignatius Suharyo.

A number of elements who also took part in the church with Heru included the Head of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, Inspector General Fadil Imran, Commander of the Jaya Regional Military Command Maj. Gen. Budiharto, Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Prasetyo Edi Marsudi, officials from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, the High Court, the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office, the DKI Jakarta Regional BIN, representatives of the DKI Jakarta BPK, the Regional Office of the DKI Jakarta Ministry of Religion, the DKI Jakarta Religious Harmony Forum (FKUB).

Heru and his entourage started a review at the GPIB Church of Immanuel, followed by the Jakarta Cathedral Church, the St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church, and the GPIB Paulus Church, Jakarta.
