JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation has issued a Circular (SE) Regarding Implementation Guidelines (Juklak) of People Travel by Transportation during the Christmas and New Year Holidays During the COVID-19 Pandemic.
This SE is a follow-up to the SE Task Force for Handling COVID-19 Number 3 of 2020 which aims to prevent and break the chain of the spread of Covid-19 which has the potential to increase due to people's travel during the Christmas and New Year holidays.
Spokesperson for the Ministry of Transportation, Adita Irawati, said that the SE Ministry of Transportation, one of which requires the requirements for rapid test results on a number of public transportation during the Christmas and New Year 2021 holiday season, will only take effect from tomorrow.
"The validity period of the SE Ministry of Transportation for sea, air and rail transportation is valid from 22 December 2020 to 8 January 2021 and for land transportation is valid from 19 December to 8 January 2021," said Adita in a statement received by VOI, Monday, December 21.
In detail, travelers using long-distance air and rail transportation are required to show a negative result certificate using the antigen rapid test no later than 3x24 hours before departure as a condition of travel.
Meanwhile, for travelers who use land transportation, both private and public, the Ministry of Transportation calls on using a rapid antigen test 3x24 hours before departure as a travel requirement.
Routine trips on the island of Java with the sea transportation mode which aims to serve limited inter-island or inter-domestic port locations within an agglomeration area or by land transportation within an urban agglomeration area (Jabodetabek) are not required to show a result of the rapid antigen test results as a condition of travel.
In addition, there are other requirements that travelers must have, namely the Electronic Health Alert Card (e-HAC).
"Filling in e-Hac Indonesia is mandatory for travelers using all modes of public and private transportation, except for rail transportation modes," explained Adita.
Especially for trips to Bali Island, travelers using air transportation are required to show a negative result certificate using the RT-PCR test no later than 7x24 hours before departure.
Meanwhile, those using land or sea transportation, private or public, are required to show a negative result certificate using the antigen rapid test no later than 3x 24 hours before departure.
"Apart from trips to Bali, from and to Java and within Java, the antibody rapid test can still be used and is valid for 14 days," he said.
Adita said that children under the age of 12 are not required to take the RT-PCR test or the rapid antigen test as a condition for travel.
"We ask all transportation operators to comply with all conditions and provide adequate socialization to all members of the public. Likewise, prospective passengers are asked to be able to follow the provisions and always carry out health protocols," he added.
