JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) is providing antigen rapid test services at long-distance train stations starting today.

This inspection service aims to help prospective long-distance train passengers who must have a rapid antigen test with a negative result as a condition of travel in Java.

"KAI provides Rapid Antigen Test services at stations at a price of Rp105,000. This service is available through the BUMN Synergy with the Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia Group," said EVP Corporate Secretary KAI Dadan Rudiansyah in his statement, Monday, December 21.

Dadan said this service was only available at Gambir Station, Pasar Senen, Kiaracondong, Cirebon Prujakan, Tegal, Semarang Tawang, Yogyakarta, Surabaya Gubeng, and Surabaya Pasar Turi.

He said, prospective train passengers must prepare sufficient time if they want to carry out an antigen rapid test at the station. Because the examination process takes longer than the antibody rapid test.

"People who want to use the antigen rapid test service at the station are encouraged to do the D-1 trip to avoid delays if it is done on the day of departure," said Dadan.

Apart from the station, prospective customers can also use the results of the Rapid Antigen Test from a trusted hospital or clinic.

These conditions follow the Circular of the COVID-19 Handling Task Force Number 3 of 2020 concerning the Health Protocol for People Travel During Christmas Holidays and Welcoming the New Year 2021 in the Covid-19 Pandemic Period.

In the SE, actors traveling for long-distance trains and airplanes to and from Java are required to show a negative result certificate using the antigen rapid test no later than 3x24 hours before departure as a travel requirement.

"From December 22, 2020 to January 8, 2021, long distance train customers in Java are required to show negative antigen rapid test results as a condition for boarding the train," said Dadan.

The requirement for a rapid antigen test that must show a negative result only applies in Java. Meanwhile, the conditions in Sumatra are still using the rapid antibody test or PCR swab.

"For long-distance train trips on the island of Sumatra, customers are required to show a certificate of the results of a non-reactive antibody rapid test or a negative COVID-19 PCR test that is valid no later than 14 days before the departure date," he added.
