BENGKULU - The Rejang Lebong District Attorney's Office (Kejari) destroyed 25 criminal acts of evidence (barbuk) in cases of drug trafficking and abuse and other general crimes that had permanent legal force.

"This activity is one of our powers, in this case the execution of evidence that has been decided by the high court or the Supreme Court which reads that the verdict was confiscated to be destroyed," said Head of BB and Rampasan Goods at the Kejari Rejang Lebong Doni Hendry Wijaya in Rejang Lebong, Tuesday, December 20, confiscated by Antara.

He explained that the destruction of evidence they did was also to avoid misuse of evidence and other unwanted things.

The evidence that was destroyed this time, he said, came from 25 cases consisting of 14 cases of methamphetamine with a total of 48.7 grams. Then two cases of marijuana type narcotics weighing 2.02 kg, and one case of pills (hard drugs) as many as 920 pills.

While the other one is a case of the Emergency Law (sajam), one case of persecution, two cases of theft, one case of embezzlement, one case of the emergency law of possession of homemade firearms, one case of conversion of biological natural resources and ecosystems, and one case of the ITE Law.

"For this narcotic evidence, it was destroyed by blending it with antiseptic liquid, then some were burned, especially for evidence of clothing and marijuana. For evidence, we cut sharp weapons and firearms using a machine engine," he also said.

According to him, the destruction of the barbuk was the third stage in 2022, after it was implemented in July and November and there were also several cases from the previous year that only had permanent legal force.

As for BB, whose decision was confiscated to be auctioned at this time, he said, it is still under assessment by the KPKNL in the form of a car, seven motorbikes, then a cellphone and two plots of land located in Padang Ulak Tanding District.
