Subang Now Has A Temple, Director General Of Hindu Guidance: Pancasila Is Not Just A Discourse

JAKARTA - Subang Regency, West Java, now has a Pura Agung Astha Hannas. This Pura Agung was inaugurated by the Director General of Hindu Guidance at the Ministry of Religion I Nengah Duija marked by the signing of the inscription.

This temple is located inside the Indonesian National Character Development Campus complex Astha Hannas Jl. Raya Binong No. 65 Kec. Binong Kab. Subang West Java.

The construction of a place of worship for Hindus is an initiative of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Indonesian National Character Development Campus, Ermaya Suradinata.

"I have aspirations to build a house of worship for all religions and their adherents on the Indonesian Character Development Campus Astha Hannas, and today I have realized it. In the future, I hope that from this temple and campus, national leaders will be born who firmly uphold religious values based on Pancasila ideology," Ermaya explained as quoted from the ministry's website, Friday, December 16.

Director General of Hindu Guidance I Nengah Duija appreciated the steps taken by the Indonesian National Character Development Campus Astha Hannas.

"I see that the practice of Pancasila is here. Pancasila is no longer a discourse but a prexis, which is in accordance with the priority program of the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia, namely building religious moderation. This is the advantage of schools that are not in other places," he said.

"Thank you for your attention to students and Hindus on this campus, I also ask for the general public to allow them to pray here. Of course we also hope that the relationship between the community and this school is always good and harmonious," he continued.

Present at this inauguration were the Chairperson of the Parisadha Hindu Dharma Indonesia (PHDI) Pusat, Major General TNI (Ret.) Wisnu Bawa Tenaya who is also the Secretary of the Steering Committee of the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency. He said, First Sila of One Supreme God, places religion as the unifier of the nation.

"And that's what I see from this campus," he said.

Also present at this inauguration ceremony were the Chairman of the West Java Prov. PSN, and the entire extended family of the Indonesian National Character Development Campus, Astha Hannas.
